The structure encompasses four courses, two at the Faculty of Law, and two at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Additionally students need to attend one event, hosted by the Environmental Law Center.

Possible courses from the Faculty of Law:

Generally, all courses by the Faculty of Law related to Environmental Law can be attended (i.e. “Umweltrecht”). We do however recommend the following courses taught within the CUSL Program:

  • International Environmental Law
  • Environmental Law Basics and Comparative Studies
  • Biodiversity Law

Possible courses from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences:

Generally, all courses by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences related to Environmental Law can be attended. We do however recommend the following courses:

  • Physical Hydrology
  • Land Use Dynamics (Physical Geography)
  • Ecology
  • Atmosphere I and II
  • Environmental Medicine
  • Chemistry of the Atmosphere

Possible Events by the Environmental Law Center:

Events relevant for completing the certificate include, for example:

  • A visit to an Environmental Law Firm
  • Attendance of a lecture of a practicing environmental lawyer
  • Participation in the annual excursion of the ELC to India
  • A visit to the UN in Bonn
