The University of Cologne offers an exchange pogram with the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The application process is managed by the ZIB Jura via the Chair of US - American Law.

Duquesne University School of Law is part of the Duquesne University campus, located in downtown Pittsburgh. You can find more information regarding the University on their Website.

Upon request, credit for coursework completed at Duquesne generally may be transferred to the CUSL program. Such requests will be reviewed by the Chair for U.S. Law and must include a description of the course to be transferred, as well as submission of proof of completion.

Duquesne University School of Law follows an academic calendar of fall and spring semesters which start in the middle of August and the beginning of January, respectively. We recommend applying for the fall semester in order to avoid a time conflict with German University scheduling. If you do apply for the fall semester, the application deadline is the same as the deadline for Erasmus - applications at the ZIB Jura (deadline: mid-March).

The application process contains the following steps:

1. Application process via ZIB Jura (parallel to Erasmus - applications)

2. Submit the documents requested by ZIB Jura (especially containing your interst to study at Duquesne University, corresponding priorities and a motivaitonal letter)

3. TOEFL test results (minimum score: 90) (TOEFL iBT - internet-based Test) or IELTS test results (minimum score: 7 overall) as a requirement from Duquesne University (they only accept the TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) as TOEFL result)

4. Parallel to the application process: notify the Chair of US - American Law about your application (short E-Mail)

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team at the Chair of US - American Law.
